To go where we want to be, we need to do what needs to be done to get there. It’s really that simple.
Most of us know where we want to be, and we are able to do what needs to be done, but we don’t and we won’t because It’s too much work, it’s painful, it requires us to learn or do something new, or we’re afraid of what people would say.
Instead most of our efforts are spent complaining, blaming, finding reasons why we don’t, justifying and telling ourselves and everyone else “if only…I would have…”.
That is the reason why most of us who want to succeed in what we want to do, don’t. We tell ourselves we want and deserve more, but we don’t do more. We have so many needs, but we won’t do what is needed.
If all the time, effort and emotions spent in complaining, blaming and coming out with reasons and excuses were channeled instead into finding solutions and doing what needs to be done, I think we will find that we would be moving closer every day towards where we want to be, instead of staying right where we are. All noise and no movement. Like revving the engine to the limit in the same spot with the gear in neutral. Like doing doughnuts in the parking lot.
So the question is, are you willing to put in the effort, face adversity and overcome the pain, to move towards the life you want, before it ends?
Because every single one of our lives will end one day, that much is absolutely certain, baby.
