Everything good comes from somewhere good.
If we don't listen to ourselves, we won't be able to listen to anyone else.
If we can't take care of ourselves, we won't be able to take care of anyone else.
If we won't help ourselves, we won't be able to help anyone else.
If we can't love ourselves, we won't be able to truly love anyone else.
The shortcut of course is dependence - we look for someone else who will listen to us, take care of us, help us and love us, so we don't have to do it ourselves.
It becomes a one-way street.
We want to be given what we need and we pretend we are giving back instead when the truth is, how could we?
We cannot fill any other cup when we are empty.
